Fire Ban Information
This is to advise you that Fire Rating in the Summer Village of Sunrise Beach is being updated to FIRE RESTRICTION.
Fire Restriction
With limited moisture received hazard conditions in light and medium fuels have and continue to increase.
Prohibited
- Outdoor open burning on public lands and private lands.
- Fire Works or exploding targets
Allowed
- SAFE fires in acceptable fire pits
- Monitored burn barrels/incinerators with screens
- Pellet smokers or other enclosed outdoor wood fired appliances
- Gas/propane stoves, firepits and barbeques
- Indoor wood fireplace or another designed device (incinerators, etc)
- Open Flame Oil devices
A SAFE fire under this restriction is a CONTINOUSLY monitored fire of LIMITED size for cooking, warming, or recreation, burning within an ACCEPTABLY constructed fire pit or appliance.
Other conditions to consider
No burning of any kind for any reason with winds above 20km/hr. No burning without an acceptable extinguishing method, immediately at hand.
The Summer Village of Sunrise Beach follows the Provincial Fire Bans and Sturgeon County Fire Bans.
